Thank you for scheduling your interview! Below you’ll find important additional details about the podcast, recording, and more.

What is the NP Business Matters Podcast?

The NP Business Business Matters Podcast addresses the business of being a nurse practitioner. This can include topics such as:

  • Starting and growing a practice or other business
  • Leadership
  • Legislative issues
  • Business environment in various states
  • Personal and professional development
  • Ideas, tips, and strategies for success
  • And of course, so much more.

How are the interviews recorded?

  • We will use Zoom to record our audio. We will not be using the video, and being camera ready is not required.
  • For the best results, please use a microphone. Please make sure that your microphone is listed in the input settings for your computer and you are not recording through the computer’s default microphone – this will make the audio unusable! (If you cannot do either of these, please contact Barbara ASAP for a test call first).
  • Please use a headphones. This will reduce feedback and echoing.
  • Other things that will help the quality of the recording:
    • Pause Dropbox or other cloud syncing services
    • Restart your computer and then click on the Zoom meeting link just before our scheduled time.

Because these are prerecorded and not live, we can always edit if need be. However, we find that authentic recordings (with the least amount of editing) always sound best.

What I need from you:

  • A short bio or introduction, approximately 50 words or so that will serve as an introduction.
  • Please answer a short questionnaire that is included on your interview booking page (you likely did that by now, but just in case…)
  • A high-quality professional photo that is suitable for web publication.
  • Please notify us ASAP if you are unable to keep your scheduled interview time.
  • Guests are sometimes quite nervous, may not feel comfortable with being interviewed, or have other technical issues and concerns. If this is you, let us know ASAP and we’ll schedule a short “pre-call” to make sure everything is working correctly and get all your questions answered. We want this to be fun for you and be informative and entertaining for our listeners.
  • Once your podcast goes live, we’ll ask you to share it with your network.

Other Important recording tips:

  • Please be in a quiet distraction-free room.
  • Turn off/silence phones and other mobile devices. Please do not set them to vibrate.
  • Turn off Facebook or anything else that is likely to beep and buzz in the background.
  • It’s a good idea to check your connection prior to our interview to mitigate any problems during our recording. Please take this network test to see if there is anything in term of security that may be blocking/hindering your connection: https://networktest.twilio.com
  • Have water ready.
  • Relax and have fun.
  • Some individuals find it helpful to have a few bulleted points they want to cover.

Where will my interview play?

  • Our websites
  • Podcast via iTunes and other podcasting and internet radio outlets (iHeart Radio, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, and others)
  • We will share (and ask you to do the same) the interview on all our social media platforms. If you can forward your SM handles, we can make sure that you/your organization are tagged appropriately.
