Non-Clinical Business Ideas on

Non-Clinical Business Ideas

You want to start a business as a nurse or nurse practitioner and yet, you don’t want to be in clinical practice. What should you do?

In this episode of the NP Business Matters podcast, I talk about things you can do that are other than clinical practice. On the other hand, if you are interested in clinical business ideas, make sure you listen to episode #51.

I encourage you to take some time to brainstorm your ideas and really think about them before you even begin your research. Make this something that excites your soul. One of my favorite tools to use is mind-mapping and I like to throw everything up there…without self-editing.

Take a listen, and then let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

  1. Thank you so much Barbara for another really informative podcast!

As you know, it has taken me quite awhile to find the “evolution” of my business that was personally satisfying to my sense of passion and purpose …. and profitable 🙂

I think this may be true for many others as well. I just wanted to leave a note of encouragement to those who may have started out and are not yet making the headway they “thought they should” or aren’t sure how to start monitizing their non-clinical idea at all!

Trust that you are not alone and trust the process. Many of us needed to tweak and perhaps even altogether scrap ideas at times to start over before finding our stride.

I found mine in providing a non-clinical service focused on providing clinician facing Education for Sustainable Healthcare through my business M. Elia Nature-Based Healthcare Solutions.

It’s been a long road getting here but I’ve finally reached that fine line between passion and profit.
Thank you for all your help Barbara!

Finding one’s stride, purpose and business model is not always what we think it will be. And as you said, you’ve got to trust the process. I really appreciate you taking the time to follow your path to see where it took you and where it will take you in years to come.

Thank you so very much for sharing your thoughts and kind words.

    Be well Millie.

  3. The podcasts and other educational programs you provide are excellent.

Nurse Practitioners have so many opportunities. We all need to think outside “the box” to share our expertise.

You are so correct, we do not always end up where we thought we would be now. I started years ago as an employee, moved on to owning my own brick and mortar clinical practice, and now providing telemedicine along side nurse legal expert work. It has been a wonderful journey but with many speed bumps.

Finding a balance between the various opportunities in nursing have been creative at times, but definitely worth the effort to own my own time and schedule in my business with Nurse Expert Solutions and Natural Healthy Care.

Thank you again for all your support and help.

“we do not always end up where we thought”, that is true for me as well. The wonderful thing as you pointed out, is we have options and lots of opportunities. You’ve done that in your own professional life. Thanks for being a part of NPBO™ all these years!
