This is a wonderful video, thank you so much! I opened my practice in August of 2007, based also on the micro practice concept of Gordon Moore, MD, sort of combined with some ideas of the retail clinic mixed with the full primary care aspect but in a smaller space. I have a “reception” room, not a waiting room, (no one waits) and one part time do it all person to help me. I have one exam room, but am learning new ideas constantly from all of you out there starting these innovative practices. I liked the website for the compact refrigerator, and the way the vaccines are organized. My biggest issue has been the billing, but otherwise we are growing. I started with zero patients as I was new to the area, and now have about 250 patients a little over a year later! Regards, Carla Anderson, FNP-C

I am doing this in January 2009. I already have 150 patients and families signed up and I found out yesterday that I received the WHIC Technology grant for 2008! I have been in practice in my area for 10 years and so many patients are following me. I would be happy to be a resource to anyone else out there thinking of starting a “solo-solo” practice.

That is really awesome! I can see myself doing that in the future. One day, I will call the shots totally for myself. So organized and it looks very doable..
