Provider-Neutral Language in DTC Ads

Published by bcp under NP Practice Issues

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Received from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners today. Please take time to read this and particpate if you chose.

=====
AANP continues to work with the pharmaceutical and medical device industry to encourage provider-neutral language in all direct-to-consumer (DTC) ads. To that end, we created a petition to further demonstrate the importance of this issue to the NP discipline. The petition was launched in April and we
wanted to allow NPs who did not participate initially an opportunity to do so now. Please take a few minutes and visit us at http://66.219.50.185/petition/ to read and sign the petition.

Please forward this message to your NP colleagues, as well as others you believe will support this initiative.  We currently have approximately 12,000 petitioners. We will post details on the progress of the petition on our Web site (www.aanp.org) over the next few weeks.

Thank you for taking the time to support this important issue.

Many of these things, we already do - we’ve been working in teams for years, first as nurses, then as nurse practitioners. However, there are several many NPs need to improve, and they will as we develop our business acumen. I’ve taken a five of the “30 Things” and have added a few comments:
