I can tell you that when I started out 7 years ago, I was roasted over the coals by the doctor faction of the state board of nursing (at that time they pulled the strings on the nurse puppet on the board who did NOT support us as NPs whatsoever) were up in arms about NPs doing such a thing because we would be STEALING doctor's patients - How dare we even think of doing such a thing? But as their lobbyist (big buffoon of a man) told me in the lobby - I had a great idea for doctors and he was going to have to tell them but that nurses had no right to invade on the doctor's territory. Please give me a break.
